By itself, Key-X is an innovative resource, which gives autonomy to people with any motor limitation to control any computer. However, offering every function of keyboard and mouse with total accessibility is just a detail. With just eleven touch-sensitive keys, which can be triggered even by the blink of an eye, Key-X does much further. In conjunction with the Simplix software and its accessories, Key-X makes up an amazing platform of school inclusion and rehabilitation, capable of developing the motor and cognitive skills of students and patients with physical and intellectual disabilities. The device that redefines the inclusion of people with disabilities.

I spent three years without being able to talk on the computer about more delicate subjects that I did not want to expose to the caregivers. I am able to talk again about subjects that for a long I did not. Who has privacy, does not know what it is like to be without it.
The equipment is especially suitable for people with motor limitations of any etiology, for both the daily activities of computer access and the use in a therapeutic learning environment. The learning of its utilization is simple and intuitive. Its appearance is very pleasing for both the users as well as the community as a whole, in addition to having an excellent performance. The opportunity to use a computer without restrictions allows the user a wide range of possibilities, including even interaction with environmental control units.
During many years of Daniel’s school life, what made his life the hardest was the long time to do the activities, especially textual production. A syllabic chart was used for a long time where he nodded to the desired syllable and the support professional spelled the words. After that, we acquired a pointer that was placed on his head, but it was an inviable attempt. Nowadays he uses the Key-X keyboard that meets his needs, because with this resource he has full access to the computer, including the possibility to surf the web, use social networks, type texts, play games, and finally participate in computer classes, a class that’s part of the curriculum of Integrated High School Informatics.
Another fundamental advantage is that the physical effort required to use this keyboard is much smaller than that required by the head pointer.
To send his messages faster he uses another resource, the TelepatiX app installed on his tablet.
I can only thank the efforts, the commitment and the assistance of the Geraes company. May God illuminate the minds of every component of this company so that they may continue to collaborate to overcome obstacles and barriers that hinder the teaching and learning process of people with cerebral palsy, contributing to their inclusion.
